Citizens of the world are rushing to buy sterilized hand sanitizers, amid fears of a new outbreak of the Corona virus. This product ran out of shelves in some international stores, while Google Trends data showed a significant increase in searches for making sterilizers at home.
Users searched for homemade recipes in Northern Ireland and to a lesser extent in England, while Washington topped the list of US states, followed by Oregon and Hawaii.
The sharp rise in searches comes after sales of sterilized liquid in the United Kingdom rose by 255 per cent in February, according to the British newspaper “The Independent”.
The American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that washing hands with soap and water is the best way to clean hands, but when this is not possible, the Foundation recommends the use of a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent of alcohol.
Along with face masks and cleansing wipes, alcohol-based cleansing gel was one of the most popular items in conjunction with the concerns of the Coruna virus.
