Dozens of protesters at the American Embassy in Paris in solidarity with George Floyd

Most dancers wear black masks and masks because of the coronary artery virus crisis, and the protesters display signs saying “racism suffocates us”, “justice to Floyd” and “I cannot breathe” – Floyd’s last words panting like a white officer kneeling on his neck.

“George Floyd was a victim of a racist crime, a racist murder in the United States by a police officer,” said Dominique Sopot, president of the French anti-racism group SOS Racisme, which helped organize the demonstration.

In a statement, the organizers called for broad solidarity between anti-racist groups in France to denounce a crime “unfortunately” common in the United States.

“We also ask for maximum firmness in France, including at the state level, where racist acts have recently been reported by the police,” he said.

After less than an hour, the protesters were safely transported from the embassy vicinity by the police in riot gear.
